Gas supply systems
The injection system conditions biomethane to the quality standards set by PG&E Rule 21 or similar standards set by different energy providers.

The quality of the biomethane must be set according to the quality standards of the gas distribution system before being injected. The biomethane to be injected is conditioned by adding air or liquefied gas and dehumidified and desulphurized biogas.

An injection system consists of the following components:
  • Biomethane quality measurement
  • Conditioning of biomethane: addition of liquefied gas if necessary
  • Compression (two redundant compressors)
  • Drying Process gas chromatograph, licenced calibrated measurement of the calorific value, standard density and carbon dioxide portion
  • Odorization unit: Gases in the public supply system must possess sufficient odor to be detected if a leak exists. If this is not the case, the gas will have to be odorized.
