Technical Data
Start up Date: December 2007
Production Capacity: 2.1 MW electrical – two stage plant
Input: Corn silage
Heat usage: Blumendorf, two industrial customers
The
completion of this 2.1 MW biogas plant near Bad Oldesloe close to Hamburg, began a new
chapter in MT-Energie's company history. It is the first plant that the biogas specialist
has produced that is larger than 1.0 Megawatt.
With this, MT-Energie takes a large step in the direction of international
competitiveness. Also since the
completion, MT-Energie has become an interesting business partner for large
industrial customers, such as E.On and other energy providers.
The
produced biogas powers four combined heat and power generators. With the help of a micro gas net, the
produced heat, as well as the electricity, is used optimally. Not only is the
biogas plant supplied by the produced heat, but so are the entire town of Blumendorf and two larger
industrial consumers. This arrangement
allows for three quarters of the available heat to be used.
